BOCCONI UNIVERSITY | FRANCESCHI MAIN CLASSROOM

Milan2023

The project intends to adapt the Main Classroom from a technological and regulatory point of view, following the spirit in which it was originally designed and built through a careful choice of materials used and attention to construction details in which nothing was left to chance. In order to eliminate architectural barriers, the Oak wood floor will be made as a ramp with a 7% slope and the width of the corridors will be 150 cm. The new classroom will be able to accommodate No. 336 spectators arranged in 28 rows of 12 seats each. The seats will be equipped with a fold-down writing surface with anti-panic movement and electrical outlets for charging devices. The walls will have cladding made of Oak wood posts, while the suspended ceiling will feature beams made of sound-absorbing material that lend architectural strength to the design. Particular attention has been paid to the acoustic aspect to achieve the best performance from the point of view of speech intelligibility. Electrified roller blinds will be added, with the motors hidden in the false ceiling.
